Please join us at a webinar to discuss our new report on improving access to opportunities for physical activity for people living with severe mental illness

This webinar has now taken place. You can still register to receive the recording of the event.

Date: Thursday 28 August 2025
Time: 11:00-12:00
Delivered: Virtually via Microsoft Teams (joining details to follow)

Chaired by Julie Bailie, Associate Director for Training, Centre for Mental Health, we will be sharing the results of an evaluation of work led by Rethink Mental Illness to tackle the structural and systemic barriers people face in accessing sport and leisure services. The event will have a panel of speakers and a chance for audience Q&A.

We are delighted that the following, speakers will join us:

  • Dr David Woodhead, Associate Director of Research, Centre for Mental Health.
  • Jeanette Bain-Burnett, Executive Director of Policy and Integrity, Sport England
  • Brian Dow, Deputy Chief Executive, Rethink Mental Illness.

Plus, additional speakers to be confirmed.

The webinar will be of interest to anyone working in mental health services, sport and leisure, voluntary and community sector organisations, and user-led groups. It will set out a case for action and provide valuable insights to inform strategies, policies and spending decisions.

This work has been conducted in collaboration with Rethink Mental Illness.
