We are delighted to invite you to our next Mentally Healthier Councils Network webinar taking place on Tuesday 16th June 2026.
Join colleagues from Richmond and Wandsworth Councils for an insightful webinar exploring their new Healthy Minds: Public Mental Health Action Plan for Wandsworth, a cross-council, prevention-focused approach to improving mental health and wellbeing. This session will provide an overview of how the plan was developed and delivered, highlighting the practical steps taken to build a coordinated, whole-system response across council services.
The Healthy Minds Action Plan is built around The Health Foundation’s building block model, with a focus on bringing together cross-council teams in partnership to better support the mental health of residents. Using the building blocks of health, Wandsworth Council has been able to better connect with other services with a shared goal of supporting the wider determinants.
What we will cover
- The process of developing Healthy Minds and how the two councils brought together key areas – community, housing, environment, education, and employment – to address the wider determinants of mental health
- How collaboration with residents, the NHS, and the voluntary sector shaped a shared vision for a healthier borough, with insights from teams involved and case studies that highlight effective cross-council working.
- Reflections on lessons learned from planning and implementing a cross-council approach, with a focus on embedding mental wellbeing across local policy and service delivery.
This webinar will offer the opportunity to learn from peers and take away practical guidance to support your council in championing mental health at every level.
You can register for the event below. Please also circulate this invitation to your networks and colleagues who work in your council and who may find this event and being part of the Network useful.
