Where a child grows up can have a profound impact on their mental health and wellbeing. Join us for this webinar exploring the findings from Centre for Mental Health’s latest briefing, which examines how place and location shape children and young people’s mental health experiences and contribute to inequalities.
Drawing on research from the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Policy Research Group at the University of York and its partners, including evidence from the Born in Bradford (BiB) cohort study, this session will:
- explore how mental health inequalities are driven not only by differing levels of need but also by structural barriers that affect access to support
- highlight key findings from recent research and consider what they mean for policy, practice and creating fairer, more equitable mental health support for children and young people.
For councils, the webinar will provide valuable insights into how local environments, communities and services influence children and young people’s mental health, helping inform place-based approaches to reducing inequalities and improving wellbeing across their local area.
