Centre for Mental Health to host the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition

6 June 2018

Centre for Mental Health is delighted to announce that it has been chosen as the new host of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition.

The coalition brings together leading organisations from across England, with a growing base of supporters who are passionate about the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. Through the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition, these charities speak as one on behalf of children and young people’s mental health.

The coalition operates thanks to the generosity of Zurich Community Trust, Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Comic Relief (the Funders’ Alliance). It works to change policy to improve the levels of wellbeing among children and young people.

Since its inception in 2009, the Coalition has had a home and enjoyed the support of the Mental Health Foundation in its ambition to attain better mental health support for all children and young people.

Sarah Hughes, Chief Executive at Centre for Mental Health, said:

We’re delighted to have the opportunity to work with such a fantastic group of organisations for real and lasting improvement in children’s mental health and wellbeing. Too many children don’t receive the support they need, but by working as a coalition we can bring about transformation for the next generation’s mental health.

Sue Bailey, the Coalition’s Chair said:

Centre for Mental Health has the track record and expertise the Coalition needs to continue its vital work, building on what we have achieved so far. We look forward to working with them and all colleagues across the sector in the months ahead.

The move to Centre for Mental Health will take place over the summer – in the meantime, learn more about the coalition here.
