Chaired by Shizana Arshad, Equally Well UK Lead at Centre for Mental Health, this event will focus on physical health and severe mental illness and the work of Equally Well UK.
- Marsha McAdam, Chair of Equally Well UK’s Expert by Experience Group, will share her insights and experiences of what it means to have poorer support for her physical health and what changes she would like to see.
- Ed Beveridge, Presidential Lead for Physical Health at the Royal College of Psychiatrists and member of the Equally Well UK Clinical Group, will talk about the current state of physical health and severe mental illness and share the work RCPsych are doing in reducing the mortality gap for those living with severe mental illness.
- Andy Bell, CEO at Centre for Mental Health, will share information on how we can work with ICBs to achieve better physical health for people living with severe mental illness.
This event will be a chance to discuss with leaders in this field and colleagues from across the country practical steps towards achieving improved physical health for people living with severe mental illness. We will look at key elements of an effective system of support and at the value of codesign and coproduction with Experts by Experience in the creation of better services.
