An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional person with expertise in children and young people’s mental health to lead the Children and Young People's Mental Health Coalition (CYPMHC) in the next stage of its campaigning work.

The CYPMHC is a coalition of organisations from across England passionate about the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. Through the CYPMHC, charities come together and speak as one on behalf of children and young people’s mental health.

The Coalition was launched in 2010, and is chaired by Dame Professor Sue Bailey; it operates as an independent organisation, but is hosted by Centre for Mental Health.

We are seeking someone with a broad range of organisational, leadership and influencing skills including the ability to persuade policy makers and parliamentarians through public speaking and in writing, and the ability to liaise with and campaign on behalf of a number of organisations. You should have some experience in applying for grants and fundraising and in policy analysis.

The successful applicant will have in-depth knowledge of policy issues relating to children and young people and/or mental health, and a highly organised, project management approach to work. You will manage one part-time member of staff and be expected to work independently but to liaise closely with Centre for Mental Health colleagues.
