Kadra joined Centre for Mental Health in May 2019 as Head of the Children and Young People’s Programme, leading the Centre’s research and policy in this area to help improve the lives of children and young people. She is now our Associate Director of Children & Young People's Mental Health. As part of her role, she is also Strategic Lead for the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition.

Prior to this, Kadra was a Senior Commissioning Officer at Surrey County Council where she provided specialist support to inform commissioning decisions relating to children and families. Kadra was also previously a Policy Officer at The Children’s Society and a Support Worker in a secondary school in South London.

Kadra believes that people should be put at the heart of decision-making, particularly those who are seldom heard.
