Job: Sessional Qualitative Researcher

We are looking for a number of sessional qualitative researchers to support us with specific research projects on an hourly rate basis. We are a small but mighty research team who deliver a range of evaluations and research projects on mental health. These include (but are not limited to) the areas of: children and young people’s mental health, employment, social inequality and racial inequality.

This opportunity is suitable for a wide range of people including early career researchers, peer researchers, PhD students and others with qualitative research experience. Please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!

Pay
  • £25.00 per hour
Duties
  • Qualitative interviewing / facilitating focus groups (These may be with young people, adults, practitioners or other stakeholders. They may be carried out over video conferencing such as Microsoft Teams, over the phone or in-person)
  • Writing up interviews and focus groups accurately and ability to summarise key insights in writing and verbally
  • Qualitative data analysis • Designing topic guides for interviews and/or workshops
  • Organising the logistics of interviews with participants • Observing GDPR practices in handling data
  • Commitment to the organisation’s anti-racist principles
Required skills
  • Qualitative analysis

  • Able to create a safe non-judgemental space for research participants to share their views
  • Keen interest in matters related to mental health and social inequality
Required experience
  • A minimum of two years’ experience carrying out research, either as part of education or working as a peer researcher/other researcher
