Senior Executive Briefing

Addressing mental health at work

This briefing is designed to highlight the impact of mental health problems in the workplace to senior executives. The presentation can be delivered either as a basis of a business case for tackling the most common mental health problems in the workplace or to assist the development of leadership strategies to address mental health problems in the workplace.

Length: 30 - 60 minute

Audience: Executive and senior management

1. Organisational awareness

Opening our eyes to the most common mental health problems in the workplace

This presentation is designed to increase the awareness of all staff about depression and anxiety and their impact in the workplace.

Length: one hour
Maximum participant numbers: 100
Audience: staff at all levels within the workplace

2. Employee awareness to action

Responding to the most common mental health problems in the workplace

This workshop is designed for employees to increase their; understanding about mental health problems in the workplace, knowledge about the relationship between mental health and the workplace and confidence in the strategies required to approach a colleague they may be concerned about. DVD case studies and structured discussions are utilised to give Participants practical experience and skills.

Length: 2 hours
Maximum participant numbers: 25
Audience: general staff groups excluding managers, supervisors and team leaders

3. Manager awareness, business impact and action

Managing the most common mental health problems in the workplace

This workshop is designed for managers to enhance their knowledge about mental health problems, the relationship between mental health and the workplace, and how to manage a staff member who may be experiencing a mental health problem. Through the use of DVD case studies and structured discussions Participants will become more confident in the principles and planning required intervene early if they are concerned about an employee as well as develop ongoing management strategies, such as return to work plans.
