How we're different

Centre for Mental Health Workplace Training helps to provide good mental health management at work. It is a straightforward and practical programme, which is tried and trusted; it is based on the beyondblue National Workplace Programme in Australia that has been running for over 6 years and has been piloted in the UK.

The Centre's Workplace Training has a range of benefits:

  • It is a delivered onsite to enable a quick and efficient programme delivering value for money.
  • It is a workshop delivered in one complete session and gives people managers the solutions to improve productivity.
  • It builds upon and increases the skills and knowledge of people managers to act to reduce distress.

The modules are delivered by accredited facilitators who all have a degree-level qualification in mental health as invariably participants ask clinical questions about treatments and often approach the facilitator at the end of the session about their personal and professional experiences.

The Centre's Workplace Training and Mental Health First Aid are two different and complementary programmes. Workplace Training is focused on people in the workplace who experience common mental health problems. It gives people the knowledge and skills needed to act early. Mental Health First Aid is the help given to someone experiencing a mental health problem before professional help is obtained.

Stress in the workplace is often referred to but this training focuses on the common mental health problems, namely depression and anxiety and the difference between these is examined and explained during the training.
