Scheme to support offenders into employment wins Business in the Community’s 2011 award for excellence

08 July 2011

Lend Lease’s initiative BeOnsite was recognised by judges at Business in the Community’s annual responsible business awards for providing over 250 people from excluded groups, including offenders, with industry specific training.  Over 150 people were supported into full-time paid employment on Lend Lease projects and developments.

BeOnsite took part in the Centre's 18-month partnership programme Beyond the Gate that explored the elements of effective practice for developing pathways into employment for people with mental health problems in the criminal justice system.

Many congratulations to BeOnSite from all of us at the Centre.

Beyond the Gate uses real examples from employers, prisons and probation services across England to sets out five elements of effective practice in securing employment for offenders.
