Denmark's Social Psykiatri Centre visit Sainsbury Centre

22 October 2009

Staff and partners of the Social Psykiatri Centre ('Danish Psychosocial Rehabilitation Information Centre') in Denmark met Sainsbury Centre staff as part of their week-long trip to the UK.

The 25 visitors from across Denmark were very interested in how recovery is being supported in the UK. During the day spent at the Sainsbury Centre, they also met Lord Bradley, Dr Rachel Perkins (South West London and St Georges NHS Foundation Trust) and Mark Freeman (Offender Health). Sainsbury Centre and Social Psykiatri Centre are now developing a twinning relationship to continue the exchange of ideas.

"I'm really happy for the opportunity to visit and exchange ideas. In Denmark, we often tend to think nationally or regionally, but in searching for solutions, sometimes it helps to cross borders."

Anders Moller Jensen,
Chairman of the Board, Danish Psychosocial Rehabilitation Information Centre

"It's been a great visit and I think it's the start of an important period of international cooperation."

Executive Director, Danish Psychosocial Rehabilitation Information Centre
