Costs of Mental Illness in Northern Ireland

The economic and social costs of mental illness in Northern Ireland amounted to nearly £3 billion in 2002/3 - more than the total spend on health and social care for all health conditions, according to a new publication published today by the Northern Ireland Association for Mental Health in association with the Sainsbury Centre.
