Training and development in evidence-based supported employment (IPS) is available at different centres and is provided in a number of ways.
Centre for Mental Health
Courses are offered for staff groups from a single organisation, or regional training events for individual delegates. Three courses are offered: 'Understanding IPS', 'Doing what works' and 'Developing as a centre of excellence in IPS'. London Metropolitan University
A five 5 day course is offered that focuses on the knowledge and skills needed by workers whose role is linked to the aim of increasing participation in paid employment of mental health service users, and to some extent, other disadvantaged groups. The course will lead to a robust understanding of evidenced based practice and the IPS method. It runs twice yearly and is taught by Miles Rinaldi, a highly experienced vocational services manager. University of Brighton
Intensive four or five day courses are offered as a module, Vocational Interventions for People with Mental Health Problems, by the Graduate Programme in Health and Social Studies at the University of Brighton. Dartmouth College, New Hampshire, USA
The Dartmouth IPS Supported Employment Center offers an Online IPS supported employment training course. It is intended for employment specialists and their supervisors.
