Centre staff are active beyond the research work they undertake. Here are some of the speaking engagements that they are involved with, as well as events that we are supporting in some other way. Many of the events we run ourselves are smaller and therefore by invitation only, and so don't appear here.

Geoff Shepherd will be chairing a session at the The Role of Peer Workers in Mental Health Services conference in Central London. Organised by the Centre and the NHS Confederation, this conference presents a unique opportunity for delegates to learn about the role of peer workers in mental health services as a further step to implementing greater recovery focused practice across organisations. Gene Johnson, founder of Recovery Innovations (previously META services) in Arizona in 2006, will be giving the plenary address. Further information is available on the NHS Confederation website.

17 May 2012, Manchester

Nicola Oliver will be speaking at the Mental Health Commissioning Conference at the Manchester Conference Centre. The conference will focus on the role of commissioning in delivering the Mental Health Strategy with a particular focus on Commissioning for Mental Health Outcomes.
